Jed Liston has spent more than four decades in enrollment management, but he still talks about the work in terms of people. As Senior Consultant and Director of Business Development at BPS, Jed draws on deep experience in enrollment strategy and institutional dynamics to help colleges understand their challenges, bring people together, and develop approaches that fit the institution rather than forcing it into a formula.

A first-generation college student himself, Jed began his career as a student ambassador, tour guide, and orientation leader at the University of Montana before becoming only the university's third admissions counselor. Over the years, he would go on to oversee virtually every area of enrollment management and rise to Assistant Vice President for Enrollment, later serving as Director of Institutional Marketing and Director of Alumni before joining BPS in 2023.

Jed describes his greatest professional strength as relationship-building, and his leadership record reflects it. He has led teams across enrollment, alumni, and marketing and considers himself a servant-leader: someone responsible for giving people the encouragement, tools, skills, and space they need to do their best work. More than 50 professionals who began working with Jed have gone on to successful careers as higher education administrators, an accomplishment he counts among his proudest.

Jed earned both a B.A. in Communication Sciences and Disorders and an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from the University of Montana, where he has been recognized for teamwork and distinguished administrative service.

For Jed, higher education remains a calling. He still finds joy in seeing a student he helped walk across a commencement stage, or watching someone he once hired for their first student job eventually become a college president. Outside of work, he enjoys sharing the Montana experience with others, traveling, and spending time with his adult children and their partners. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Missoula Downtown Association, where he previously served as president.
