Melissa Dix
Technology and Digital Marketing Specialist

Melissa Dix has spent more than 25 years watching technology change, and figuring out how to make it genuinely useful to people. At BPS, she brings that perspective to colleges and universities through Slate implementation, digital strategy, web development, and process optimization, combining hands-on technical expertise with an ability to communicate what technology can do and why it matters.

Her career has evolved alongside the digital landscape, from the early web through today's AI-driven environment, with a consistent thread: using technology purposefully and helping others understand it. Melissa has led higher education marketing and technology teams, guided clients through complex CRM implementations, and developed digital strategies focused on making institutional systems work better for the people who depend on them. She's also an educator, teaching web development and technology at Blackhawk Technical College and mentoring students as they develop both technical skills and the confidence to use them professionally.

Melissa was named Blackhawk Technical College's 2025 Faculty of the Year and has earned back-to-back Red Stapler Awards at the Higher Ed Web conference. Earlier in her career at Beloit College, she pioneered the use of Snapchat as a student recruitment tool during a period that produced the college's largest incoming first-year class since 1974. She earned a B.S. in Liberal Studies, magna cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater, where she was selected as a commencement student speaker.

Whether she's helping an institution reach the right students or teaching someone to write their first line of code, Melissa is motivated by a belief that education can change the trajectory of a person's life. Outside of work, she’s a mom to two - a teenager and an adult - and loves traveling and spending time with them. She also enjoys kayaking, reading, fostering dogs, and supports efforts to introduce young people, particularly girls, to technology.
